DAYTON, Ohio - Redshirt freshman Lindsay Fletemier was named the Collegiate Volleyball Update (CVU.com) National Player of the Week on Wednesday.
Fletemier is the first freshman and only the second middle blocker to win the award this season, which is awarded each week following nominations by each conference and independent program in the nation. She is also the first player in Atlantic 10 history to win the award. The national honor comes on the heels of her fifth Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week award on Monday.
In three matches last week, she averaged 4.11 kills per game on .559 hitting, recording only four errors to go with 37 kills over nine games. She also averaged 2.0 blocks per game, totaling nine solo and nine assisted on the week.
Dayton takes the nation's best overall record (26-1) and a No. 16 ranking into its final two A-10 regular season matches this weekend at Frericks Center.
