Philadelphia, Pa. - Sarah-Jo Lawrence of George Washington has garnered Student-Athlete of the Year honors in voting among the league's sports information directors.

Lawrence earns Student-Athlete of the Year laurels after posting a 3.85 grade point average as communications and sociology major. The guard from Rhoadsville, Va., was named to the 2008 ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America third-team and was a first-team All-District honoree for the past two seasons. She currently ranks 15th in the league in scoring with 13.2 points per game and is sixth in assists with 3.97 assists per game.
