Massachusetts' junior Zach Simmons earned A-10 Student-Athlete of the Year honors after recording seven shutouts and allowing just 15 goals in 18 matches this season. He finished the season with 22 career shutouts, tops in program history. In the classroom, the Durham, N.H., native boasts a 3.99 grade point average while majoring in history and economics. A two-time Academic All-Conference selection and 2006 NSCAA All-East scholar, Simmons is also a member of Phi Beta Kappa.
Simmons made five saves and earned the Atlantic 10 Championship's Most Outstanding Player award after the third-seeded Minutemen won the 2007 Atlantic 10 Men's Soccer Championship with a 2-0 victory over No. 4 Charlotte.
