PHILADELPHIA, PA. - Charlotte has been chosen win its third consecutive A-10 Men's Golf Championship in recent voting conducted by the conference's 12 head coaches.
The 49ers have won the A-10 Championship in each of their first two seasons in the league. Led by two-time A-10 Coach of the Year Jamie Green, Charlotte finished third at the NCAA Championships last season. The 49ers were the consensus No. 1 ranked team in the nation in October, 2007, and features Golf World's National Player of the Mid-Year in junior Stefan Wiedergruen.
Xavier, led by junior Mike Beausejour, was picked to finish second, followed by St. Bonaventure, Rhode Island and Richmond.
The 2008 Atlantic 10 Men's Golf Championship will be held May 2-4 at the Orange County National Golf Course in Winter Garden, Fla.
