PHILADELPHIA, PA - The Atlantic 10 saw 17 of its student-athletes selected in the Major League Draft, including a pair of sixth round picks.
Richmond first baseman Joe Mahoney was the first A-10 player chosen, going to Baltimore with the 189th pick. Three slots later, Fordham righthanded pitcher Cory Riordan was chosen by the Colorado Rockies. A-10 Player of the Year Brian Pellegrini was selected in the 12th round by Houston, while Atlantic 10 Pitcher of the Year Adam Mills went in the eighth round to Boston.
