Charlotte Climbs Into Baseball National Rankings

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. - After opening Atlantic 10 play with a three-game series sweep of Saint Louis (Mar. 21-23), Charlotte earned its first national ranking of the season as it comes in at No. 23 in Collegiate Baseball's Top 30 poll, it was announced on Monday.

The 49ers (17-2/3-0) improved to 15-0 at home this season and extended their home-winning streak to 17 games, dating back to last season. Charlotte is an astounding 28-3 at home since the opening of Robert and Mariam Hayes Stadium on Mar. 30, 2007.

Winners of 12 straight series in A-10 play - dating back to 2006 - the 49ers boast a team batting average of .343. Senior catcher Chris Taylor, a two-time A-10 Player of the Week selection, leads the 49ers in batting (.479), home runs (six) and RBI (31).

Charlotte returns to the diamond on Mar. 25 when it visits Radford at 6:00pm.
