Baseball Player of the Week
John Mollicone - Fordham
Junior, C, 6-1, 210 lbs., Cranston, RI/Bishop Hendricken HS
Mollicone batted .476 (10-for-21) and drove in nine runs over five games...had a pair of three-hit games and added three runs scored...had two hits and two RBI on Mar. 16 in the Rams' 10-7 win over Northern Illinois... extended his hitting streak to 12 games.
Baseball Pitcher of the Week
Dave Sever - Saint Louis
Sophomore, RHP, 6-4, 195 lbs., Burr Ridge, IL/Benet Academy
Sever allowed just one run over eight innings to earn his first win of the season on Mar. 16 as Saint Louis turned aside Illinois State, 5-1...scattered five hits and fanned five.
Baseball Rookies of the Week
Bryan Hamilton - Charlotte
Freshman, RHP, 6-1, 195 lbs., Woodstock, MD/Mount Saint Joseph HS
Hamilton earned a pair of victories out of the bullpen for Charlotte versus College of Charleston (Mar. 17-18)...did not allow an earned run in 3.2 innings pitched...recorded four strikeouts...opponents are batting .182 against him this season.
Tom Zebroski - George Washington
Freshman, 2B, 5-10, 160 lbs., Port Washington, NY/Paul Schreiber HS
Went 5-for-14 (.357) with six RBI and four runs scored in four contests...also drew a pair of walks...drove in a pair of runs on Mar. 14 in the Colonials' 5-4 win over George Mason.
Softball Player of the Week
Evan Miller - Charlotte
Senior, Outfield, Concord, NC/Central Cabarrus HS
Miller finished 14-for-20 on the week for a .700 batting average...hit safely in all six games as the Niners went 5-1 on the week...had six RBI and six runs scored to go along with two doubles and a stolen base...was 4-for-4 with an RBI and two runs scored against Radford (Mar. 14)...was 3-for-3 with a run scored in game one at UNCG (Mar. 15)...went 3-for-4 with two runs scored and an RBI in game one against Furman (Mar. 17).

Softball Pitcher of the Week
Kristen Bowen - Charlotte
Senior, Pitcher, Charlotte, NC/Butler HS
Bowen went 3-0 on the week, with three complete games...pitched 21 innings in all, giving up just two earned runs on 15 hits...posted an ERA of 0.67...had 19 strikeouts in the three games...gave up no runs on six hits against Radford (Mar. 14) while striking out four...allowed two earned runs on six hits while striking out five at UNCG (Mar. 15)...did not give up an earned run while allowing just three hits and striking out 10 against Furman (Mar. 17).
Softball Rookie of the Week
Nicole Ayres - Fordham
Freshman, Pitcher, Westville, NJ/Deptford HS
Ayres made four appearances in six games and pitched 14.2 innings allowing just one earned run for a 0.59 ERA on the week...struck out 13 batters and walked two...earned the win over Fairfield (Mar. 17)...posted six strikeouts in four innings versus San Diego State (Mar. 16).
Women's Lacrosse Player of the Week
Katherine Sampson - George Washington
Sophomore, Midfield, Larchmont, NY/Mamaroneck HS
Sampson posted eight goals, nine points and two hat-tricks in a 2-1 week for George Washington...notched four goals and an assist at No. 15 Denver (Mar. 13)...added four draw controls and two groundballs...posted a hat-trick and two caused turnovers in an 11-10 win over Towson (Mar. 18)...added a goal in a win at Davidson (Mar. 15).
Women's Lacrosse Rookies of the Week
Sarah Cates - Duquesne
Freshman, Midfield, Columbia, MD/Mt. Hebron HS
Cates set a career-high with four goals in Duquesne's only game of the week...tied the game-high in goals scored...posted 13 shots tying Duquesne's second-highest single-game total in program history...added three draw controls, two caused turnovers and two ground balls.
Jillian Davis - La Salle
Freshman, Attack/Midfield, Folsom, PA/Ridley HS
Davis led La Salle with five points, notching four goals and adding an assist, in the Explorers' 14-13 victory over Quinnipiac (Mar. 14)...took eight shots in on the afternoon...added three draw controls...notched a hat-trick in the last 19 minutes of play.
Men's Tennis Player of the Week
Ra'ees Ismail - Xavier
Sophomore, Maineville, OH/Kings HS
Posted a pair of singles and doubles wins against Atlantic 10 competition this past week...in a 6-1 win against Duquesne on Mar. 16, he registered a 6-4, 6-4 victory at third singles and an 8-1 win at second doubles...in the Musketeers' 6-1 over Saint Joseph's the next day, Ismail earned a 6-3, 6-2 win at singles and an 8-4 win at doubles...is 8-8 in singles play and 10-6 in doubles play with J.T. Torbeck.
Men's Tennis Rookie of the Week
J.T. Torbeck - Xavier
Freshman, Cincinnati, OH/St. Xavier HS
Earns his third Rookie of the Week award of the season...took a pair of fourth singles wins this past week, beating Duquesne (Mar. 16) 2-6, 7-5, 6-4 and Saint Joseph's (Mar. 17) 6-2, 7-6...also won his two second doubles matches with Ra'ees Ismail, 8-1 vs. Duquesne and 8-4 vs. Saint Joseph's...is 8-8 in singles play and 10-6 with Ismail in doubles.
Women's Tennis Player of the Week
Ana Renda - Saint Louis
Senior, Bahia Blanca, Argentina/Escuela Normal Superior
Went 3-1 at second singles and 2-0 at second doubles this past week...earned a 6-0, 6-1 win on Mar. 15 against NJIT, a 3-6, 7-6 (10-7) win against Bethune-Cookman on Mar. 17, and a 6-3, 6-2 win over Embry-Riddle on March 17...also earned doubles wins against Florida Southern (8-4, Mar. 15) and Embry-Riddle (8-3, Mar. 17)...her only loss came on Mar. 15 to No. 22 (Div. II) Florida Southern on Mar. 15, 5-7, 1-6.
Women's Tennis Rookie of the Week
Anastasia Rukavyshnykova - Temple
Freshman, Kiev, Ukraine
In Temple's only competition this past week, she garnered a 6-1, 4-6, 6-2 fourth singles win against Duquesne on Mar. 17...she also earned an 8-4 doubles win with Sharanya Pattabi against the Dukes...this is her second consecutive Rookie of the Week award.
Golf Performer/Rookie of the Week
Corey Nagy - Charlotte
Freshman, Charlotte, NC/Vance HS
Shot a five-under par 211 (68-69-74) to tie for fourth at the General Jim Hackler Championship in Myrtle Beach, SC...his opening round four-under 68 was his best round of the year and the five-under for the event also marked a personal best...the 49ers finished sixth in the 18-team field which featured 10 of the top 50 ranked teams in the nation.
Men's Track & Field Performer of the Week
Jason Moore - Charlotte
Junior, Charlotte, NC/Vance HS
Moore captured gold in the 100m and 200m dashes on Mar. 17 at the 49er Classic...posted an NCAA regional qualifying time of 10.52 in the 100m dash and 21.32 in the 200m dash.
Men's Track & Field Rookie of the Week
Aaron Kauffman - Charlotte
Freshman, Etters, PA/Red Land HS
Competing at the 49er Classic on Mar. 17, Kauffman recorded times of 1:58.48 in the 800m and 4:01.93 in the 1,500m.
Women's Track & Field Performer of the Week
Lamarra Currie - Charlotte
Sophomore, Apex, NC/Apex HS
Currie registered an NCAA regional qualifying time of 11.74 in the 100m dash on Mar. 17 at the 49er Classic...posted a time of 25.46 in the 200m dash.
Women's Track & Field Rookie of the Week
Heather Roush - Richmond
Freshman, Poneto, IN/Southern Wells HS
Roush set a program record in the discus with a mark of 143-8 in her collegiate debut on Mar. 17 at the UNC-Wilmington Invitational...finished second in the event...added a sixth-place showing in the javelin (109-1).
